• Colloquially used for States of Austria, the technically correct German language name for the federal states of Austria is Bundesländer, which is hardly used in Austria.

• Official (plural) title for the various Federal States of Germany under the German constitution, the Grundgesetz,
  which explicitly names the states simply as \'Land\' (plural \'Länder\').
